Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses are what’s Hot for 2016!

Here are some of the main things to consider when choosing mismatched bridesmaids dresses for your wedding day.

  • Keep with the same hemline whether it is short or long. This will insure a cohesive look in photographs pulling everything together for a polished look.
  • Consider body type when choosing different styles for your maids. This way each maid will look great and feel confident walking the aisle
  • If you’re going with varied fabric colors or shades always keep in mind your maids skin tone. Lighter shades tend t wash out an already pale complexion.

Keeping these pointers in mind while incorporating a mismatch of fabric textures, necklines, colors, and shades. You will not only have a beautiful wedding party but a happy one too!

Save Or Splurge?

When there is so much makeup out there, Drugstore and high end, it’s hard to figure out what is the best to splurge on and what is better to save a few bucks and buy from the drugstore. That’s why I’m here to help! I’ll guide you through your makeup draw so the next time you go shopping you’ll know the best places to buy each product!

My recommendation is to splurge on foundation. It’s the base for all your makeup and whether you want little to full coverage, the higher end foundations are going to last longer and help keep you looking fresh all day long. Also, the higher end foundations, for the most part, have a broader shade range, which makes it easier to match your skin to the shade best for you.

Unless you are only going to only wear powder as your base, I suggest going to the drugstore. Rimmel has an amazing powder called stay matte that locks in my foundation and keeps my face makeup intact even in the hot sun and the best part… its only $5! What a steal!!

Drugstore bronzers always seem to be chalky and look dirty on the skin, making me always get my bronzers from a higher end store.  I highly recommend the Smashbox contour kit that comes with a contour stick, a bronzer stick, and a highlighting stick!

Elf from the drugstore has amazing blushes for only $3!! They have a large selection of colors so whether you like pink, peach, red, or berry shades, you’ll be able to find a color best suited for you at the drugstore without breaking the bank!

Eye shadow

Some may disagree with me on this one, but when it comes to eye shadow, I definitely go for the splurge. Yes the drugstore has some good palettes, but nothing beats the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. They are all so versatile and have all different shades for if you like warm, cool, or rose toned shadows. They are worth every penny.

Maybelline has awesome mascaras from about $8-$10 and make your lashes look long and luscious. They do the same job if not a better job than the higher end mascaras.

Lip Stick

Lip stick is definitely a drug store buy for me. They have a huge color selection and last so long on my lips. My favorite brands are the Rimmel and the Revlon lipsticks. They have matte, cream, and shimmer shades.

What’s in My Bag?

Hey ladies! So must of us at some point or another, whether it be daily or just on a special occasion, carry a handbag. I personally can’t leave my house without my purse; I feel naked without it!! I am always curious on what other girls carry around with them because I know I carry around a bunch of random stuff with me! Today I’ll share with you what bag I carry around and what is in my bag!

So I carry around a Michael Kors Hamilton Saffiano Leather Satchel in the color fuchsia. Yes I bet you’re wondering why I use a fuchsia bag on a daily basis instead of a neutral color like a beige or a black. I just really love having a statement bag and the color is very versatile, more than one would think, and goes with almost everything in my closet.

Now that we know the bag I carry on a daily basis, let’s get to what’s in my bag!

Wallet that actually matches the bag

In my wallet is my id a bunch of random cards and receipts and some cash

Apron along with my booklet and wine key (server life)

Pens (constantly losing these)

Hair ties

About 10 different lip glosses

Hand lotion

Phone charger

There you have it!! That is everything I carry around with me!! I guess it’s time to clean out my purse!!!

At the Ultimate we have not only dresses but a bunch of cute accessories to go along with them!!! From necklaces to purses to shoes, we can dress you literally head to toe!!!! Today I’ll be featuring some of my favorite pieces we have in store.

This necklace has a glamorous spin on a normal choker necklace. It pairs perfectly with a higher neck dress or shirt and with instantly take a look from day to night. This is one of my favorite pieces in store and i highly suggest it to the girl who loves to have unique jewelry on hand because this is almost one of a kind!

Ask any of my friends and they will tell you the color I dislike the most on me is green. This necklace though, completely changes my mind!! These olive green Swarovski crystals compliment any and all skin tones and really bring out brown, green, and blue eyes. I definitely recommend this pair to the girl who is looking to experiment with some color. You can’t go wrong with this one!

I love this bag!!!!!! It is very glam but rocker at the same time. It works to add a little edge to your outfit! Pair with a sexy red dress or even a floral top and some jeans and your look is instantly on trend!

This bag is awesome to bring when going to a fancy dinner or any event wear you need to look a little extra special. It is the perfect size to throw your phone keys wallet and some makeup products in.  Any event you go to in which you need to dress up this bag adds some elegance while keeping you trendy at the same time.

Looking to add some color to your little black dress? This clutch does just the trick! This bright pink stands out against any neutral outfit. With this bag, there is no blending in, only standing out!!!

Eyebrows On Fleek

I love eyebrows!! They are probably one of my favorite features to emphasize since they are the frame of your face. I constantly get compliments on how perfectly mine are shaped and I have never even got them waxed once!! I have played around for years perfecting my routine and in this article, I’ll share all my secrets with you girls and show you how to get your eyebrows on fleek.

  1. Tweezing

The best advice I can give in tweezing eyebrows is do not over pluck!!! Your natural shape is most likely the best shape for your face, but sometimes they just need a little love and some trimming.. A good pair of tweezers is essential, and I recommend the Tweezerman brand. They are a little pricey but definitely worth the splurge since they seem to work way better than all other brands I have tried. When tweezing your eyebrows, remember that eyebrows are sisters not twins, meaning they are never going to be perfecting symmetrical but still try to get them as similar as possible. Your eyebrows should start right at the corner of your eyes, should arch at the center of your pupil, and end at the end of your eye. Trimming your eyebrows are also very important because if the hairs are too long then they can tend to make your eyebrows look thicker than they are because the hairs will droop down. Any small pair of scissors and clean mascara wand for brushing the hairs up will work for trimming them.

  1. Fill

There are a few different ways to fill your eyebrows. I use a brow pencil but some people like brow powder or cream.  My favorite brow pencil is the Jordana Fabubrow Eyebrow Pencil.  It is super cheap (only $2.99!!) and works just as good as an expensive brow pencil. If you prefer a brow powder, I recommend the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder, because it comes with two shades so you can choose the best shade for your hair color, or even mix the two together. Speaking of hair color, when trying to choose the perfect color to use use the 2 shade rule. If you have dark hair, make your brows 2 shades lighter than your hair color, and if your hair is lighter, make your brows 2 shades darker. Start by lining the top and bottom of your eyebrows then continue to fill in the ends of your eyebrows, since that is the part usually most defined, fill that in the most, then make your way to the arch still filling in so its defined on your face, and when you get to the beginning part, only fill in lightly, since naturally that is the part of your eyebrow that is the most spare. After, brush your eyebrows with a spoolie to get rid of any harsh lines.

  1. Set

Set your eyebrows with a clear or tinted brow gel so your eyebrows stay in place all day. The best tinted brow gel is the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel. If you would rather a clear brow gel, a good option is the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in clear. Don’t have a brow gel on hand or don’t have the money to spend on another product? No worries. Just grab a toothbrush and spray the bristles with some hairspray and crush it over your eyebrows. Works just as good as a brow gel as a way lower cost!

Now that you have all my tips, you too can polish up your eyebrows without the need of waxing, letting them define your face and bring out your beauty!
